Snakes

Those people who are searching about snakes & are very interested in them this is the right place to get your knowledge flushed out,so here we go

There are around 2700 species of snakes classified under 19 different families with many sub families in each family, snakes are slithering ropes which are found every where from Australia to america even under water entire globe except Antarctica,New Zealand,Green land  & Ireland. Most of the snakes are classified by the external appearences & the toxin they produce. They can grow to unbelivale sizes they have wide rage in their sizes from small thread snake to the longest recticulated pytohn which can grow up to 35 feet to largest anaconda which can weigh as much as 200kgs.Snakes are sophesticated body body parts, they are great examples of the modern evolution as they have come from a common disandant as human did very interiguing questions on how did the evolution took place, are we having any evidence on lizards evolving to snakes, how does snakes venom work it's composition. So are you ready to enter into the world of SNAKES

                                        External features of a snake

Snakes have tube like body covered with either smoothe or keeled scales.Their head always orients forward or you can say that a snake never turns it's neck back it's spinal chord gives only mono directional movement that is in all snakes.Body is divided into head, abdomin & tail, the tail consist of clocal appature on the anal scale,Snakes are very famous for having the unmached skin designes on their body which make them blend into their respective surrounding,These colours are added to their scales so let us know about sclaes depending on the enveronment the snakes is living, suppose it lives in the rain forest it will have smooth scales & if it is living in savannah or desert it will have keeled scales or rough scales.

We have rough scales on the left side & smooth sclaes on the right side,so why are they having smooth & rough scales? Since snakes are very diverese they live in desert & forests, every animal on this earth will strive to conserve water including us except water animals. So since snakes live in desert they have to conserve water by have large thick scales the evaporation of the water though body can be reduced to much on the other hand the smooth scaled snakes have less water conservation & hence they have smooth scales.

Interestingly some of the snakes use these scales in other way like produce sound,we have the famous snake called saw sclaed viper which is found in india though out middle east & nothern africa it lives in desert,so it produces sound out of it's sclaes that is very interesting but how is it done?

As you can see in this picture the saw scaled viper took a postion of horse shew shape, they produce sound by rubbing the two succesive coils back & forth the sound may not be produced if they have smooth scales & the sound is just like rattling.

Classification

Snakes are classified under 19 different families from blind snakes to highly modified vipers. But we are going to concentrate just on 4 families like the viperidae, colubridae, elapidae & the Leptotyphlophidae.
